Welcome to Highfurlong’s website, we do hope you enjoy learning more about our school through this website. Highfurlong is a very special school judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2006, 2009 and 2014. I am extremely proud to be head of a team of very talented professionals who together deliver the highest standards of education and care.
Highfurlong School is a co-educational community special school, catering for pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of special educational needs. These include physical disabilities; profound and multiple learning difficulties (including multi-sensory impairment and visual/hearing impairment); speech, language and communication difficulties; moderate learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorders.
Our vision is reflected in our mission statement

Expanding from this mission statement the vision is for our school is to be the best resourced provider in the area/country, with state of the art facilities, approximately 70 pupils on roll, meeting a wide variety of need. The school will offer education of the highest possible quality delivered by an amazing team of highly skilled team of staff. Teaching and learning is and will continue to be enjoyable and fun and is of the highest possible standards, so the children and young people will be the ‘best they can be’. Highfurlong School will work with families, other professionals, colleagues and the wider community to realize our vision. Happy pupils, happy staff, happy families and outstanding progress for all.
